YOGA RETREAT, CAMBODIA, 21 – 26.10.2024

Retreat Details / Payment Information

After you have submitted the registration form, you will receive an invoice for a deposit of CHF 600 per person, to confirm your room. Final payment is due no later than 60 days before the start of the retreat.

Payment can be made though Bank Transfer or Credit Card authorisation form. More details will be provided with the invoice after your registration

The flights have to be organized individually by the participants themselves. We recommend flying with Thai Airways to BKK and connecting flight BKK to PNH with Thai Smile Air (usually goes without an overnight stay in BKK, gate change in BKK) or check possibilities with Emirates or Qatar, as they may introduce flights to Phnom Penh through Doha/ Dubai, in the coming weeks.

Visa: Please inform yourself timely about the individual visa requirements. Visa on arrival in Cambodia is possible, apx. 37 dollars p.P. or online visa ahead. Passport photo required.

Passport: Please check the required validity of your passport and make sure the passorts has at least 2 empty pages as a requirement for Cambodia immigration.

Health regulations of the country: Please inform yourself about the current health and vaccination regulations of the country COVID-19 (

Individual transfers from/to Phnom Penh Airport to Hotel Farmhouse Smiling Gecko must be booked in advance at the hotel (approx. 1.5 hours drive). Please let us know your flight times in advance. The cost of transfers are not included in the total price. The hotel will charge for the transfers individually on site. For 1 – 3 guests approx. 70 USD per way/ vehicle, for 4-6 guests 90 USD per way/ van.

Further transfers for an individual connection program must be arranged and paid directly at the hotel.

Rooms: The bungalows are distributed according to the receipt of registrations and are all very nicely equipped. A bungalow can also be booked for two people to travel together. Upgrades available upon payment of the extra charge at the time of booking, subject to availability.

Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel up to 60 days before the start of the retreat, we`ll charge CHF 600 cancellation fees per person.

In case of cancellation 60 – 30 days before the start of the retreat, we`ll charge 50% of the total price per person

If canceled 29 days or less before the start of the retreat, there will be a 100% cancellation fee per person, no refunds will be made.

If you can bring a substitute, we can make a free rebooking for the hotel and retreat. (Flight rebooking must be made by the traveler himself).

If a bungalow for double use has to be converted into a single because the accompanying person cancels, the price for single use will be adjusted accordingly. The official cancellation fees then apply to the accompanying person.

If your flight is canceled by the airline at short notice or your visa is not approved, the official cancellation policy for the retreat of the organizer Smiling Gecko still applies. If possible, the participant must claim any cancellation fees directly from his travel insurance company.

If the entire retreat has to be canceled by the organizer (Smiling Gecko), e.g. due to a natural disaster or lack of participants (minimum number of participants 10 people), all amounts and deposits paid by the participants will be fully refunded. Further travel expenses are not included (e.g. flight tickets, visa costs) and cannot be reimbursed by Smiling Gecko in this case.

We strongly recommend that you issue travel cancellation insurance, as well as luggage and international health insurance. Your travel agent will assist you with it. The travel cancellation insurance normally must be booked at the time or shortly after you made the travel booking.

We reserve the right to provide an equivalent substitute teacher in the unlikely event that our yoga teacher Rebecca Robinson is unable to attend due to illness or emergency.

Please note that no partial refunds can be made for unused days or meals.

Arrival / Checkin / Checkout

CheckIn: Either you arrive one day before the retreat starts, then please book an additional night directly at the hotel (will be extra charged). Otherwise, it is recommended to arrive no later than 3 pm on the day of the retreat start. 

CheckOut: Takes place on the last day after breakfast until approx. 11am. Individual billing can be done the evening before at the reception. Additional nights can be booked and paid directly at the hotel.

Allergies & Food Intolerances
Please let the hotel know in advance if you have any specific allergies or intolerances, as well as if you are vegan or vegetarian. 

Registration deadline:
Up to 4 weeks before the start of the retreat we have fixed contingents in the hotel, therefore early booking is highly recommended.

Discounts on site:
SPA: 10% discount on spa treatments
FB: 15% discount on non-alcoholic beverages 

Physical and mental health is required for all participants. This yoga retreat is not a substitute for psychotherapy and/or medical treatment. Please seek your doctor’s permission in advance if you have any health problems or if you are pregnant. The organizer does not take responsibility for the health problems of the participants.

No pets are allowed during the retreat.

Extra nights & excursions
Of course, an extension can be booked at the hotel at any time, subject to availability. Payment is then made directly at the hotel. We recommend arriving for acclimatization one day before the start of the retreat. Excursions can be booked and paid directly at the hotel. 

Individual follow-up program
We recommend you to plan a visit to the famous temple complex of Angkor Wat (min. 2 nights, approx. six hours drive from the Farmhouse), a visit to the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh (min. 2 nights), visit to Kampot (where pepper is grown), beach holiday on Krabey Island, Koh Rong Island or on the exclusive island with Hotel Song Saa. Excursions can also be arranged directly at the hotel.

Free internet is included in the stay. However, there can also be short-term power outages, Cambodia is still a developing country.

Bring clothes for warm and cool weather, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain jacket, comfortable hiking or casual shoes for sightseeing, swimwear, flip-flops, yoga clothes, if necessary: personal medication

tropical-humid warm, due to the southwest monsoon from the sea, there may be rainfall in the late afternoon and evening. Average temperatures in September and October are 26 degrees.

Please show respect for the culture of Cambodia.
Cambodia’s culture is rich and diverse, shaped by a long history and the influential Khmer civilization. Here are some important aspects to keep in mind when traveling to Cambodia: Show respect for the people, their traditions, and their culture. A smile and a “Chum reap suor” (hello) are always welcome! When visiting temples and religious sites, it is appropriate to dress respectfully. Please inform yourself about the culture of the country before you arrive.

Included in the price: 5 x rich, healthy breakfast buffet, incl. freshly squeezed juice, 4 x dinner à la carte (excluding drinks). 1 x fine dining in the evening (excluding drinks).

Smiling Gecko NGO
Most of the revenue goes to the Smiling Gecko School Project, to support and finance the maintenance of the school house. 

Number of participants:
Minimum 10 people, maximum 18 people. The trip is only guaranteed if the minimum number of participants is reached.

Yoga equipment on site:
Yoga mats, blocks, blankets are provided. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own yoga mat and meditation cushion if you wish.

Payments at the hotel
Credit card payments (Master / Visa / American Express) and USD-Cash are possible at the hotel. We also recommend carrying small dollar bills for tips & transfers. Currency exchange in the local currency is possible at the airport. (Khmer Riel – currently: 1 KHR =   about 0.000247768 USD). However, dollars are very popular as a means of payment.
